From Obama vs. FOX by Frank Schaeffer on ZNet:
Here’s a sample (compiled with the help of Media Matters and the online magazine Crooks and Liars) of just a small stock of the incendiary rhetoric and bare-faced lies your money pays for.
Fox News host Glenn Beck has:
# said President Obama has, “a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture,”
# flirted with the idea that FEMA is building detention camps,
# suggested that President Obama is purposefully “tanking” the economy to force young people to work for AmeriCorps,
# said that Obama is “moving us away from our republic and into a system of fascism,”
# stated: “We are a country that is headed towards socialism, totalitarianism, beyond your wildest imagination…”
# says Obama “Wants you to work as a bureaucratic slave to government.”
# said: “President Obama, why don’t you just set us on fire? For the love of Pete, what are you doing? Do you not hear — do you not hear the cries of people who are saying stop? We would like some sanity in our country for a second! We didn’t vote to lose the republic.”
# ran several segments, including one on his radio show, promoting the concept of the secession of Texas from the Union,
# promotes “one world government” paranoia, including a supposed plot to put us all on a global currency controlled by the New World Order,
# warned his audience about Obama’s supposed secret plot to grab our guns,
# speculated that it is actually liberal “political correctness” that inspires right-wingers to go on murderous killing rampages…
Does Obama hate white people? Was your application to AmeriCorps denied too? If Texas secedes, can we keep Austin? What do you think?

I’ve been inspired by the banans becoming extinct and 2012. The end is near my friends, you might as well give up. But for those that won’t give up, get a cargo bicycle. Just listen and look at this inspirational shit from rideyourbike.com:
Below are picture of just some of the possibilities! Imagination and leg strengh are the only obsticals. Oh, and hills! Why are Americans so lazy? Could it be that gasoline is still cheaper than at any time in history (compared to income)? People say they care about the environment. What is it going to take to get them to act like it? Let us show YOU the way! Stop by for first hand knowledge about hauling things with your bike!

It’s a sad day for Caltrans, a really sad day for the cyclists of the Caltrans Bicycle Advisory Committee!Caltrans District 7 Director Doug Failing announced his resignation from Caltrans today, informing the Caltrans staff of his move to the Metro where he will serve as the Executive Director of the Highway Program.Doug Failing is an uncommon man, open and honest and forthright and direct and so completely driven by integrity that he inspires those around him to reach for greatness. He began working for Caltrans many years ago as a brand new Engineer and one of his first assignments was to stand on the freeway on-ramps with flyers that explained how the Diamond lanes worked. He has come a long way since those early days.Somewhere along the way he earned a reputation for his commitment to “on time and under budget” performance which complemented his pursuit of innovations in management, funding, communications and technology.More specific to my endeavors, Doug Failing is the man responsible for bringing together cyclists from Ventura and Los Angeles Counties to form the Caltrans Bicycle Advisory Committee, a group that he leads and that meets bi-monthly to advise him on cycling issues in the District 7 region. His commitment to making “routine accommodations” come to life and actually mean something for the cyclists on the road set a standard against which all others will be compared.I am truly sad to see Doug Failing leave his post at Caltrans, I think it is a tremendous loss for the Caltrans team and for the community as a whole. At the same time, I know that the Metro’s new CEO, Art Leahy, is making a smart move by positioning Doug Failing in a power position.Ultimately, this move is based on what’s best for Doug and his family and I trust that he finds his new position rewarding both professionally and financially. We all owe Doug Failing a big round of thanks for his contributions at Caltrans.Stephen Box

What important Ocotober event did I forget? Why aren’t there any alleycats listed in here? WTF, Wikipedia, get your shit together, who edits this shit anyway? I got new speakers today, I’m listening to Marduk, and it is way too real for me.
Imma jost repost Jo’s whole article because I find it so passionate and inspirational. From wekeepgoing.com:
It was my first time in the US. I rode my Colnago everyday for almost 2 months all the way from New York to Los Angeles. Riding with 21 people who became my best friends forever. I met some Real People, some of the most Human beings I’ve never met.
I saw America, big and beautiful, ugly, fat, generous, long and lonely, gorgeous. I saw big trees, bears, tiny birds, rattle snakes, wild rivers, weird insects, vultures, butterflies, … and I saw the Pacific Ocean.
About 3,000 miles into the 42ride across America, I remember thinking this is what I want to do for the rest of my life, now. I didn’t want to go back to my life in Paris. I had left half of my broken heart there, and my job as a bicycle courier with no future. Life on the road, traveling on my bike, being a bicycle nomad was a dream come true. Now, I don’t want to stop dreaming, so I keep going.
Never stop brother.
Jacquie Phelan called me (which is intense because it’s the legend Wombat herself and intense because I had to help her dial a number in a cell phone the first day I met her because she didn’t know how, whatevs, <3) yesterday and we talked about the ride across country we did together and how she wanted a copy of the Bike Talk radio show we did together (with other 42 Ridazz like George and his gf from Japan, and Joe Keepgoing from Spain, England, and now Paris, among other domestic cyclists). The same show that my bicycle got stolen during. It was unlocked, in a building on Beverly and Vermont, upstairs, down a hallway, down another one, and just outside an open door we were all sitting next to. Shoulda coulda woulda . . .
Here is the show!
From KPFK’s archive:
Jim C hosts studio guests Jeff Miller, President of the Alliance of Biking and Walking, Mikey Walley, local blogger, and Adrian of 42 Below. They are with a group of riders that just completed a ride across the country from NYC. Phone guests include Reed Kempton, Director of Transportation for Bike Friendly Scottsdale, AZ and Colin Bogart, counting Cyclists for the LACBC in Glendale.
You gaise spelled my last name wrong. You can never get that back, jk. Here is a photo of my stolen bicycle. I don’t remember where I got this photo. Ace’s blog or SIQQMOSH’s Tumblr or BAZUKA’s new website?

It was a Volume Cutter that had been powder coated white with silver sparkles. It had a black 26″ BLK MRKT BMX fork, Concor saddle, silver Sugino 75s, a silver Brooklyn Machine Works stem, and a white Stolen integrated headset (it matched the white on the frame it was so dope).
Peace.
Have you seen my Cutter lately? Was the paint job a little too much? What kind of bicycle should I get next? I was thinking a dark purple Vivalo with silver sparkles. Yes, I know they aren’t NJS, but the paint job is sick! What, it doesn’t barspin?!
